Advanced Suspension Design is seeking a skilled Gear Installer and Suspension Fabricator to join our team. This position involves precision differential setup, suspension system installation, and fabrication work on off-road and performance vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with drivetrain and suspension systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building high-performance vehicles, solving mechanical challenges, and working in a hands-on shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Differential & Drivetrain Work.
  • Install and set up ring and pinion gears in various axle assemblies (Dana, Ford, GM, etc.).
  • Set proper pinion depth, backlash, and gear pattern.
  • Install lockers, limited slips, and differential carriers.
  • Rebuild axle assemblies including bearings, seals, and shims.
  • Diagnose gear noise and drivetrain issues.

Suspension Installation:
  • Install lift kits, shocks, coilovers, and steering components.
  • Perform suspension upgrades on trucks, Jeeps, and off-road vehicles.
  • Align suspension geometry and verify proper clearances.
  • Install steering upgrades including track bars, drag links, and brackets.

Fabrication & Shop Work:
  • Fabricate suspension components, brackets, and mounts.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including:
    • MIG/TIG welder
    • plasma cutter
    • band saw
    • grinders
  • Perform frame modifications and custom suspension setups
  • Assist with building off-road vehicles and custom projects

General Shop Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document work performed and communicate with the team.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety and quality before delivery.
  • Assist with other shop projects when needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Experience installing differential gears.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of axles, suspension, and steering systems.
  • Ability to read gear patterns and properly shim differentials.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have own tools.

Preferred;
  • Experience with Dana 30/44/60, Ford 8.8, GM 10-bolt/14-bolt.
  • Experience installing lockers, ARB air lockers, or LSD units.
  • Experience with off-road suspension systems and coilovers.
  • Off-road / racing background.
